Lincoln Center Theater<\/a> has found full casting for its\u00a0upcoming\u00a0The Whoopi Monologues<\/a>, which will see actors re-creating Whoopi<\/a>\u00a0Goldberg’s 1984 Broadway debut solo show Whoopi Goldberg<\/a>, for which she won Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards in 1985.<\/p>\n

Joining previously announced stars Kerry Washington<\/a> and Kara Young<\/a> will be Tony winner Kecia Lewis<\/a>, Dominique Fishback, and Danielle Pinnock. Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whitney White<\/a> (Liberation<\/a>)\u00a0is directing the work, due to begin July 7 in the company’s Off-Broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Opening night will be July 13.<\/p>\n

Goldberg’s performance of the work\u00a0was filmed for broadcast on HBO, a recording that also earned Goldberg a Grammy. She revived the work on Broadway as Whoopi in 2004, getting a 2005 Tony nomination in the short-lived Best Special Theatrical Event category.<\/p>\n

The production will feature scenic design by Studio Bent’s Adam Rigg and Anton Volovsek<\/a>, costume design by Qween Jean<\/a>, lighting design by Cha See<\/a>, sound design by Fan Zhang, video design by Hana S. Kim<\/a>, and hair and wig design by Nikiya Mathis<\/a>. Tiffany N. Robinson<\/a> will serve as stage manager.<\/p>\n
