LONGWOOD, The Bronx (WABC) — A woman died after being stabbed inside a deli in the Bronx on Thursday, according to police.<\/p>\n
Authorities say officers responded to Jose Mini Market Inc., located at 549 Southern Blvd. in the Longwood section, around 3:15 p.m. for reports of a woman stabbed and critically injured.<\/p>\n
Alex Ali was working the store when a fight broke out between two women. He says it got out of control fast.<\/p>\n
“I was trying to break it up but when she took out the knife I backed up a little bit,” Ali said.<\/p>\n
Police say one woman stabbed another, a 29-year-old victim identified as Gwendolyn Guyton. She was stabbed multiple times in the neck and torso.<\/p>\n
“She was laying down full of blood,” witness Mario Marrero said. “She was really bad, really bad.”<\/p>\n
She was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals\/Lincoln where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
None of the witnesses and friends of the victim that spoke with Eyewitness News know what started the argument.<\/p>\n
Friends of the victim say that no matter what that argument was about, she didn’t deserve to die that way.<\/p>\n
“She had a 10-year-old son and that’s sad,” said Shelby Miller, a friend of the victim. “I mean, nothing can be that bad for someone to take someone’s life.”<\/p>\n
The suspect fled on a white scooter and was last seen wearing a green shirt and blue sweatpants.<\/p>\n
Surveillance video appears to show someone who matches the description of the suspect.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made, but the victim’s friends hope that justice is swift.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
