(KWCH) &#8211; Several buildings caught fire in Riley County, near a Kansas State University facility, on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At around 4:05 a.m., Riley County Fire District #1 and the Manhattan Fire Department responded to reports of a fire, which was located near the Kansas State University Dairy Unit. When they arrived at the scene, firefighters found heavy flames coming from several storage buildings north of the campus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">42 units responded to the fire. Several storage buildings, along with the contents inside, were destroyed. However, no people or animals were injured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A damage estimate is not available yet. Kansas State staff are assisting with removing debris from the scene, while fire crews continue to fully extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Kansas Fire Marshal and the Kansas State University Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KWCH.
