This Rockaways penthouse is asking $3.75 million, an area record for a condominium\u00a0\u2014 and it\u2019s part of the peninsula\u2019s first million-dollar-plus condo tower, Gimme Shelter can reveal.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s one of five penthouses at\u00a0Lighthouse Beach Sixty-Seventh, a 12-story tower with 82 units\u00a0at 141 Beach 67th St. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, the modern tower is slated for a 2028 completion. The Lighthouse condos, which range from one- to three-bedrooms, start at $645,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cLighthouse Beach Sixty-Seventh are the first million-dollar-plus condos in the Rockaways,\u201d said developer Steven Dubb, president and principal of the Beechwood Organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Indeed, the most expensive condo to sell in the Rockaways to date sold for $1.32 million in 2021 at 133 Beach 116th St., according to data provided to Gimme Shelter by the brokerage firm Brown Harris Stevens. <\/p>\n
That 1,622-square-foot unit came with three bedrooms and two baths.<\/p>\n

This three-bedroom, three-bath aerie is\u00a01,725 square feet. It boasts lots of glass, three balconies totaling 370 square feet, ocean views \u2014 and beachy touches, like engineered wood floors that can hold up to sand being dragged in from the beach.<\/p>\n
That said, the building even offers storage for its tenants\u2019 surfboards \u2014 as well as their bikes.<\/p>\n

Dubb added that the Rockaways continue to emerge \u201cas one of New York City\u2019s most exciting growth corridors.\u201d<\/p>\n
