Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Chrissy Metz<\/a> (This Is Us), who was scheduled to make her Broadway debut in the hit musical & Juliet<\/a>\u00a0June 18\u00a0at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, joined the production a few days\u00a0earlier\u00a0than originally announced.<\/p>\n

Metz, who made her New York stage debut in a benefit reading of Neil LaBute<\/a>\u2019s Fat Pig for
\n MCC in 2017, stepped\u00a0into the role of Angelique June 16\u00a0for a limited
\nengagement through September 13. She succeeded Tony nominee Jeannette Bayardelle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to be making my Broadway debut, and to do
\nit in a show that is this joyful feels like an absolute dream come

Metz joins a cast that includes Gianna Harris<\/a> as
\nJuliet, Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart<\/a> as Lance, Alison Luff<\/a> as Anne,
\n Drew Gehling<\/a> as Shakespeare, Michael Iv\u00e1n Carrier<\/a> as May, Liam Pearce<\/a>
\nas Romeo, and Nathan Levy<\/a> as Fran\u00e7ois.<\/p>\n

Gabe Amato<\/a>, Daniel Assetta<\/a>, Reese Britts<\/a>, Nicholas Cooper<\/a>,
\nJhailyn Paige Farcon<\/a>, Laurie Hernandez<\/a>, Makai Hernandez<\/a>, Joomin Hwang<\/a>,
\nElsa Keefe<\/a>, Alaina V\u00ed Maderal, Daniel J. Maldonado<\/a>, Mackenzie Meadows<\/a>,
\nEsosa Oviasu<\/a>, Cassie Silva<\/a>, TJ Tapp<\/a>, Zalah Vallien<\/a>, Darien Van
\nRensalier, and Romy Vuksan<\/a> complete the cast.<\/p>\n

Nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, & Juliet flips
\n the script on the William Shakespeare classic, imagining what would
\nhappen next if Juliet hadn\u2019t ended it all over Romeo. Featuring a book
\nby David West Read<\/a>, the score includes famous pop songs written by Max
\nMartin, including \u201cSince U Been Gone,\u201d \u201cRoar,\u201d \u201cI Want It That Way,\u201d and
\n \u201cConfident.\u201d<\/p>\n

The production also has direction by Luke Sheppard<\/a>,
\nchoreography by Jennifer Weber<\/a>, musical supervision, orchestrations, and
\n arrangements by Bill Sherman<\/a>, scenic design by Soutra Gilmour<\/a>, costume
\ndesign by Paloma Young<\/a>, lighting design by Howard Hudson<\/a>, sound design
\nby Gareth Owen<\/a>, video projection design by Andrzej Goulding<\/a>, hair, wig,
\nand makeup design by J. Jared Janas<\/a>, and musical direction and
\nadditional orchestrations by Dominic Fallacaro<\/a>.<\/p>\n

U.S. casting is by Stephen Kopel<\/a> and Carrie Gardner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The international hit, which opened at the Sondheim
\nNovember 17, 2022 following a run in the West End, was the first new
\nmusical of the 2022\u20132023 Broadway season to announce its recoupment.<\/p>\n

The musical will celebrate its 1,500th performance at the Sondheim June 23.<\/p>\n
