The contest was announced last month as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of America, and asked students in the community to recite portions of the Declaration of Independence and reflect on our nation\u2019s founding document. The 13 winning students will participate in a reading of the Declaration of Independence during Senator Liu\u2019s America 250 Celebration on June 28th.<\/p>\n<p>State Senator John Liu stated, \u201cThe Declaration of Independence is one of the most important foundational documents in our nation\u2019s history, and these students are doing an amazing job in bringing this historical document to life.
