To\u00f1ita Fest will return to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on\u00a0June 28\u00a0for its third annual edition, bringing a full day of live music, DJs and community programming to the block surrounding To\u00f1ita\u2019s Caribbean Social Club. The free festival will feature performances by\u00a0Los Mirlos, Calma Carmona, Afro Dominicano, An\u00f3nima Orquesta\u00a0and\u00a0The Salsa Project, among others \u2014 along with some surprises \u2014 as the beloved neighborhood gathering continues to expand its footprint and cultural reach.<\/p>\n

Now in its third year, the event is set up as a street festival on\u00a0Grand Street, between Driggs Avenue and Roebling Street, with a main stage and a separate DJ stage, plus food, bars, vendors and community activations designed to turn the block into an all-day celebration. Organizers are also bringing back crowd-friendly attractions including a\u00a0domino tournament, while adding a\u00a0mini soccer pitch\u00a0inspired by the World Cup spirit.<\/p>\n

Peruvian cumbia legends Los Mirlos say, \u201cBringing the mystical echo of our psychedelic Amazonian cumbia to the concrete jungle of New York at To\u00f1ita Fest is an infinite pride \u2014 a burst of energy and roots that will make the heart of the Big Apple vibrate.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s music programming is designed to build momentum early and sustain it through the evening. According to organizers,\u00a0Calma Carmona\u00a0and\u00a0Los Mirlos\u00a0will perform during the earlier hours to encourage fans to arrive early, before the festival moves through salsa, bomba y plena, merengue, and a closing stretch that blends salsa and m\u00fasica urbana.<\/p>\n

The festival will also include a\u00a04 p.m. ceremony honoring To\u00f1ita, when community members will gather to recognize the matriarch and present the\u00a0To\u00f1ita Fest Award\u00a0to notable local figures. On the DJ side, the community stage is slated to feature names including\u00a0DJ EU, Gia Fu, Marti Pritz\u00a0and\u00a0Papi Weli, broadening the event\u2019s Latin music palette throughout the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooklyn is where Afro Dominicano was born, so playing To\u00f1ita Fest 2026 feels like homecoming,\u201d Adriano Brito of Afro Dominicano says. \u201cTo\u00f1ita\u2019s is a cultural landmark that represents the heart of our community, and it\u2019s an honor to celebrate our roots on that stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to To\u00f1ita\u2019s for the trust and the opportunity to share our music with the community,\u201d An\u00f3nima Orquesta says. \u201cIt is an honor to return to the place where An\u00f3nima Orchestra was born.\u201d<\/p>\n

For festivalgoers looking for more than music, To\u00f1ita Fest will host\u00a0salsa competitions\u00a0with prizes including concert tickets, trips to Puerto Rico and access to\u00a0Buena Vista Social Club\u00a0on Broadway, in addition to the returning domino tournament. Sponsors for this year\u2019s edition include\u00a0Adidas, Medalla, Buchanan\u2019s, JetBlue, Mamitas Ices, Total Wireless, Hennessy, the Brooklyn Nets\u00a0and the\u00a0NYPD Hispanic Society.<\/p>\n

The event also comes amid growing recognition for To\u00f1ita beyond the block: In recent years, the Caribbean Social Club icon has become an increasingly visible cultural figure, including appearing during\u00a0Bad Bunny\u2019s <\/a>halftime show\u00a0\u2014 a sign of how deep her legacy runs across generations of Latin music.
