The mayor had predicted as much when, in February, he announced a \u201cfiscal crisis,\u201d brought about through years of mismanagement by the administration of former Mayor Steven Fulop. That too was no surprise. We <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/pros-say-administration-used-financial-tricks-to-boost-fulops-2021-campaign-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">railed<\/a> against Fulop\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/jcitytimes.com\/editorial-steve-fulop-is-the-wrong-choice-for-new-jersey\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">multifaceted<\/a> malfeasance for years. What was a surprise was the amount of the tax increase, 20%, and the numerous unanswered questions.
