Aniya Thompson and Daniel DiPinto are the newest students at\u00a0Westerberg High (by way of New World Stages, where the revival of cult-favorite musical Heathers continues its run).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Thompson will joi as Martha Dunnstock beginning July 8, making her Off-Broadway debut and succeeding original cast member Erin Morton in the role. DiPinto will begin performances June 24 as Preppy Stud.<\/p>\n
The Laurence O’Keefe-Kevin Murphy musical also welcomed Isabella Esler<\/a> (Beetlejuice) as Veronica, John Cardoza<\/a> (The Notebook) as J.D., Zan Berube (Back to the Future) as Heather Chandler, Lisa Ann Walter (Abbott Elementary) as Ms. Fleming, and Chris Marsh Clark (A Beautiful Noise) as Ram Sweeney earlier this spring, respectively succeeding Kuhoo Verma<\/a>, Casey Likes<\/a>, Peyton List, Kate Rockwell<\/a>, and Xavier McKinnon.<\/p>\n As previously announced, Ava DeMary<\/a> (Billy Elliot: The Musical, Evita, Matilda) and Tony Award nominee Jeanette Bayardelle (& Juliet, Girl From the North Country, Hair, The Color Purple) will also join the cast of Heathers The Musical on Wednesday, June 24. DeMary will play the role of Heather McNamara, and Bayardelle will play Ms. Fleming\/Veronica\u2019s Mom. Current cast member Elizabeth Teeter<\/a> will play her final performance as Heather McNamara on Sunday, June 21, and Lisa Ann Walter will play her final performance as Ms. Fleming\/Veronica\u2019s Mom on Monday, June 22.\u00a0The revival cast also currently features Jackera Davis (Beetlejuice) as Heather Duke Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>‘s Rachel Hoffman and Jimmy Larkin.<\/p>\n This revival opened July 10, 2025, and is currently set to continue through September 6. The cult favorite show is back in the venue that hosted its original production, now coming via London’s The Other Palace. Adapted from the 1988 film, the musical follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, who’s on track to become one of the most popular girls in school after befriending the beautiful but cruel Heathers, only to meet a mysterious teen rebel who changes everything. Andy Fickman directs.<\/p>\n Heathers the Musical premiered with a sold-out run in Los Angeles in 2013, and transferred to New World Stages in 2014, also directed by Fickman in a different staging. The authors revised the show for a 2018 West End run, before playing two national tours and a West End encore engagement\u2014several new songs and script changes can be heard in New York for the first time in this revival.<\/p>\n READ: Heathers, Where Are They Now?<\/a><\/p>\n Fickman reunited his London creative team for the Off-Broadway mounting, including choreographer Gary Lloyd (the New York iteration also includes additional choreography by Stephanie Klemons<\/a>), set and costume designer David Shields (this staging also features co-costume design by Siena Zo\u00eb Allen<\/a>), lighting designer Ben Cracknell, and sound designer Dan Samson. Will Joy serves as music supervisor, with Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh as music director.
