{"id":276385,"date":"2026-06-24T09:15:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T09:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/276385\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T09:15:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T09:15:08","slug":"stoop-set-turns-franklin-avenue-into-brooklyns-biggest-block-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/276385\/","title":{"rendered":"Stoop Set Turns Franklin Avenue Into Brooklyn&#8217;s Biggest Block Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second installment of the roving event transformed a Crown Heights block into an open air celebration where music, movement and neighborhood pride took center stage.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people attended a Crown Heights block party on Saturday, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/stoopset\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stoop Se<\/a>t returned for its second installment on Franklin Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/theblockassociation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Block Association<\/a>, an events planning company,\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/good_people_nyc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Good People NYC<\/a>, a community outreach organization, the event\u00a0spanned\u00a0eight blocks, from Eastern Parkway to Dean Street.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors, artists, families and visitors filled the block turning Franklin Avenue into a vibrant celebration of local culture. As temperatures climbed, speakers blasted\u00a0classic Hip Hop, R&amp;B, house and soul. \u00a0Attendees danced shoulder to shoulder and fanned themselves against the afternoon heat as DJ Iconik One, DJ CEO and guest DJ Funk Flex drew people from their stoops and onto the streets.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"a02eebe1-7f53-4672-9380-ee933326f88d\" id=\"file-4429592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/a02eebe1-7f53-4672-9380-ee933326f88d.jpeg;w=960.jpeg\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n. Photo: Kris Julien for BK Reader&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Stoop Set was founded by community organizer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marlonriceforny.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">state Senate candidate Marlon Rice<\/a>.
