Police are asking for help identifying two men after a robbery on a Q train platform in Flatbush earlier this month.<\/p>\n
Newly released surveillance images show the two men investigators are trying to find in connection with the incident at the Newkirk Avenue station.<\/p>\n
According to police, the robbery happened around 4 a.m. on June 14 on the southbound Q train platform.<\/p>\n
Investigators say a 41-year-old man was waiting for a train when two men approached him. The man was punched several times before his backpack was taken, according to police.<\/p>\n
The two men then ran off.<\/p>\n
The victim stayed at the scene and did not need medical treatment.<\/p>\n
Police have not said what was inside the backpack or whether it has been recovered.<\/p>\n
The newly released images show one man wearing a black top and dark pants. The second man is seen wearing a white T-shirt while carrying a bag.<\/p>\n
News 12 spoke with Michael Felman, who says he has lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and regularly uses the station.<\/p>\n
While he says violence on the subway does not surprise him, he was surprised it happened at this particular station.<\/p>\n
“I’ve taken the Q train at two in the morning, three in the morning, four in the morning, five in the morning,” Felman said. “It’s pretty crowded even at 4 or 5 when that happened.”<\/p>\n
