New York, N.Y. – On Tuesday, July 7 at 7:30 pm, Naumburg Orchestral Concerts<\/a> presents the New York debut of Delirium Muiscum at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park (mid-park at 72nd St.). The concert is free and will be broadcast\u00a0live and streamed on WQXR.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

The chamber orchestra is praised by San Francisco Classical Voice as “ferocious and rhythmically mesmerizing.”\u00a0In its first-ever performance in New York, the group performs a wide-ranging program that features music from its recent albums, “Cabinet of Curiosities” and “Seasons,” both on Warner Classics.<\/p>\n

Highlights of this lively Los Angeles-based ensemble’s program include familiar favorites such as Saint-Sa\u00ebns’ “Danse Macabre,” Vivaldi’s “Winter,” and more contemporary offerings like Jessie Montgomery’s “Banner” and Gabriella Smith’s “Cactus-Yucca Scrub.”<\/p>\n

The Naumburg Orchestral Concerts’ season continues on July 21 with an all-Mozart program performed by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s led by Brad Lubman with mezzo-soprano Erin Wanger (Walter Naumburg International Competition winner 2021).<\/p>\n

About the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

Since 1905, the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts<\/a> has continuously presented free, outdoor classical music concerts to New Yorkers of all walks of life. It is the oldest such concert series in the world. Named after founder and philanthropist Elkan Naumburg, who donated the Naumburg Bandshell to New York City in 1923, and inspired by his own ardent love of music, the series seeks to stimulate and encourage new and expanded audiences for classical music in the informal and beautiful setting of Central Park.<\/p>\n
