I am always on the hunt for the most outrageous flavor combinations in New York City. When I heard a pizza shop on Staten Island was fusing a classic Philly cheesesteak with fresh garlic focaccia, I knew I had to pull up immediately. Mimmo’s Pizza Shoppe is doing things that completely redefine the sandwich game.

The moment you walk in, the aroma of baked dough and sizzling ribeye hits you like a truck. I went straight to the kitchen to see how this masterpiece comes together. The creativity here is on another level.

The Ultimate Cheesesteak Fusion

They start with a beautiful, house-made focaccia slider bun. They slice it right down the middle and pile on a massive amount of shaved ribeye cheesesteak, peppers, and onions. But they do not stop there. They drench the meat in a healthy amount of their creamy Cooper Sharp cheese whiz and top it with a thick slice of mozzarella.

Then comes the real game-changer. They swipe the top bun with an aggressive amount of garlic, parsley, parmesan, and butter. It goes into the oven until it gets beautifully toasted and the cheese melts into a molten blanket. Look at that!

The Grand Finale

Once it comes out of the oven, they hit it with even more Cooper Sharp cheese whiz. Drenched. On goes the top bun and a heavy snowfall of freshly shaved parmesan. The result? Incredible.

It is like a giant cheesesteak stuffed inside a garlic knot, and I am completely obsessed with it. When you cut it open, the cheese just oozes everywhere. You need to get to Staten Island and devour this right now.

I am always on the hunt for the most outrageous flavor combinations in New York City.
