Playbill has an new look at the current cast of Off-Broadway’s Heathers The Musical, which welcomes new stars Ava DeMary<\/a> as Heather McNamara and Jeanette Bayardelle\u00a0as Ms. Fleming June 24 at New World Stages. See the new production shots in the gallery below.<\/p>\n

The revival of the\u00a0Laurence O’Keefe-Kevin Murphy musical\u00a0continues its run at New World Stages.<\/p>\n

The current cast also includes Isabella Esler<\/a> as Veronica,\u00a0Zan Berube as Heather Chandler, John Cardoza<\/a> (The Notebook<\/a>) as J.D., Chris Marsh Clark (A Beautiful Noise) as Ram Sweeney, Jackera Davis (Beetlejuice<\/a>) as Heather Duke, Erin Morton<\/a> as Martha Dunstock, Cade Ostermeyer as Kurt Kelly<\/a>, Adam Bashian as Ram’s Dad, and Jimmy Ray Bennett as Kurt’s Dad. Casting is by The Telsey Office<\/a>‘s Rachel Hoffman and Jimmy Larkin. Aniya Thompson will succeed Morton as Martha Dunstock beginning July 8.<\/p>\n

This revival opened July 10, 2025, and is currently set to continue through September 6. The show is back in the venue that hosted its original production, now coming via London’s The Other Palace. Adapted from the 1988 film, the musical follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, who’s on track to become one of the most popular girls in school after befriending the beautiful but cruel Heathers, only to meet a mysterious teen rebel who changes everything. Heathers the Musical premiered with a sold-out run in Los Angeles in 2013, and transferred to New World Stages in 2014, also directed by Fickman in a different staging. The authors revised the show for a 2018 West End run, before playing two national tours and a West End encore engagement\u2014several new songs and script changes can be heard in New York for the first time in this revival. <\/p>\n

Fickman reunited his London creative team for the Off-Broadway mounting, including choreographer Gary Lloyd (the New York iteration also includes additional choreography by Stephanie Klemons<\/a>), set and costume designer David Shields (this staging also features co-costume design by Siena Zo\u00eb a), lighting designer Ben Cracknell, and sound designer Dan Samson. Will Joy serves as music supervisor, with Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh as music director.
