The event is free and open to the public. The event is planned in collaboration with Ambeka Khadse, a local yoga instructor who hosts Monday evening yoga in Crocheron Park every week through Shape Up NYC and Friends of Crocheron\u2019s Yoga Centering series funded by NewYork-Presbyterian\u2019s Mini-grant, with fiscal sponsorship by FJC \u2013 Foundations of Philanthropic Funds. Registration for the event can be done at crocheronpark.org\/yoga.<\/p>\n<p>International Yoga Day, established by the UN in 2015, is observed annually on June 21 to raise awareness about the physical and mental health benefits of practicing yoga. Friends of Crocheron hosts the annual free community event to share a holistic approach to wellness among our park community. The UN\u2019s theme for this year is \u201cYoga for Healthy Ageing,\u201d emphasizing how yoga is important for people of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>The event will begin with a brief overview of Friends of Crocheron\u2019s mission and how yoga in the park connects parkgoers to the land. The International Yoga Day serves as a platform to educate and inspire our park community about the value that yoga has for a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
