A scented candle and antiques store is going through a change this year.<\/p>\n
The owners of The Scent Queens Candle Company have big plans for Andersonville as their newest concept The Midnight Treasury is coming to 5517 N Clark Street. This will be a boutique that is being kept relatively under wraps right now. Co-owner Curtis Bumgarner told What Now Chicago he is hoping to debut the shop before August 14.<\/p>\n
\u201cA place of scents, rituals, oddities, gatherings, treasures and the beautifully dark & peculiar,\u201d says a recent post<\/a> on their Instagram page.<\/p>\n Bumgarner opened Scent Queens with his husband Andrew Cookson in 2022 at 3728 W Montrose Avenue. It has become a destination for luxury scented candles. The two also offer candle-making classes at their business. They make a point of being sustainable, using renewable materials and no \u201canimal-derived\u201d ingredients, according to their website.<\/p>\n Like The Scent Queens, the two are offering a space for reading while candles burn low. In a post from the owners, they describe it as a \u201crebrand\u201d for the community. Their flagship Montrose Avenue location will stay with the rebrand.<\/p>\n Bumgarner and Cookson\u2019s business is opening in the heart of Andersonville, near the intersection of W Gregory Street and across from Jewel-Osco. This is also next to the Los Arcos Mexican restaurant, and a couple storefronts down from Eli Tea Bar.
