I\u2019ll see you all at MetLife Stadium &amp; The Shoe very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A first-round draft pick and seven-time Pro Bowl selection who was enshrined in the Jets\u2019 \u201cRing of Honor\u201d in 2022, Mangold said he was diagnosed with a genetic defect in 2006 that has led to chronic kidney disease. He is now on dialysis while waiting for a transplant.<\/p>\n<p>Mangold said he doesn\u2019t have any relatives who are able to donate, so he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/nickmangold\/status\/1978189186248187918?s=46\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:went public with the request;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">went public with the request<\/a> for a donor with type O blood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am deeply grateful to anyone that would consider donating,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Mangold was <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/center-of-attention-nick-mangold-retires-as-member-of-jets-4768ad32f5594215b7496a349bc0613a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:one of the NFL\u2019s best centers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">one of the NFL\u2019s best centers<\/a> during his career, with his seven Pro Bowl selections second to only Pro Football Hall of Famer Winston Hill\u2019s eight for the most all-star games in franchise history.
