{"id":280072,"date":"2026-06-27T21:28:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T21:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/280072\/"},"modified":"2026-06-27T21:28:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T21:28:09","slug":"trump-picks-lance-schroyer-to-become-ice-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/280072\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump picks Lance Schroyer to become ICE director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Trump announced Saturday he is nominating retired Oklahoma State Trooper Lance Schroyer as the new ICE director, calling him a patriot with experience locking up the \u201cworst of the worst.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201dLance has over 29 YEARS of Law Enforcement experience in Oklahoma,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116823744965970219\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a>, noting he won all of the state\u2019s counties in three successive elections.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.79980469;display:block\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39820161\" width=\"472\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/president-donald-trump-nominated-lance-132501149.jpg\" alt=\"Lance Schroyer in his Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lieutenant uniform.\" class=\"wp-image-39820161\"  \/>President Donald Trump has nominated Lance Schroyer to become the next Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Oklahoma Highway Patrol\/Facebook<\/p>\n<p>The agency hasn\u2019t had a director confirmed by the Senate since 2017, amid angry partisan clashes over immigration enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Trump called Schroyer a \u201cPATRIOT with real operational experience, and proven leader with DECADES of experience locking up the worst of the worst, including spearheading 287g Law Enforcement partnerships with ICE!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted Schoyer\u2019s firsthand experience getting \u201cIllegal Aliens OFF our streets\u201d and said just like Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, \u201che LOVES the men and women of ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mullin, who the Senate confirmed as Secretary of Homeland Security, stepped in after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/05\/us-news\/trump-fires-kristi-noem-in-first-cabinet-shakeup-of-second-term-taps-senator-for-replacement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trump forced out embattled predecessor Kristi Noem.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Former acting ICE director <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/16\/us-news\/acting-ice-director-todd-lyons-resigns-after-20-years-with-agency-will-stay-on-for-transition\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Todd Lyons announced his resignation<\/a> in April, following the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/16\/us-news\/fire-department-report-reveals-renee-nicole-good-was-shot-4-times-by-ice-agent-in-minneapolis\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shootings of Renee Good<\/a> and Alex Pretti in January amid anti-ICE demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>Trump called on the Senate \u2014 in recess through the week of July 4th \u2014 to confirm Schroyer immediately.<\/p>\n<p>A LinkedIn page in his name has no posts, activity or personal information beyond his title;
