Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for\u00a0New York City mayor<\/a>,\u00a0maintains\u00a0a lead over\u00a0independent\u00a0Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa in the latest polls heading into Election Day.<\/p>\n

A poll by\u00a0AtlasIntel, which surveyed 2,404 likely voters from Friday to Sunday, found that approximately\u00a044 percent of respondents would vote for Mamdani, while\u00a0around\u00a039 percent would vote for Cuomo, the former governor of New York. Around 16 percent would vote for Sliwa.\u00a0The poll has a\u00a02 percentage\u00a0point margin of error.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other recent polls have shown Mamdani\u00a0holding a double-digit lead over Cuomo.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Why It Matters\u00a0<\/p>\n

New York Assemblyman Mamdani, a democratic socialist, beat Cuomo in the Democratic primary.\u00a0Cuomo decided to remain in the race as an independent.\u00a0Sliwa currently trails his two competitors in the polls.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mamdani has secured endorsements from key individuals in the Democratic Party, including New York Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries<\/a>. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, also gave his endorsement.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump gave a late endorsement to Cuomo. The president has called Mamdani a communist and threatened to withdraw federal funding for New York City<\/a> if Mamdani wins the race.<\/p>\n

A Fox\u00a0News poll conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research\u00a0from October 24 to October 28\u00a0found that 47 percent of voters supported Mamdani, while 31 percent supported Cuomo and 15 percent supported Sliwa. The\u00a0poll surveyed\u00a01,107 registered voters in New York City and has a 3 percentage point margin of error.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Marist poll found that Mamdani led Cuomo 48 percent to\u00a032 percent among likely voters in New York City.\u00a0Sliwa had 16 percent support.\u00a0The poll surveyed\u00a01,134 adults from October 24 to October 28 with a margin of error of 4.2 percentage points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mamdani led\u00a0with\u00a043 percent support in a Quinnipiac University poll\u00a0of 911\u00a0likely\u00a0voters\u00a0conducted from October 23 to October 27. Cuomo had 33 percent support, and Sliwa\u00a0had 14 percent support.\u00a0The poll has a 4 percentage point margin of error.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The final Emerson College Polling\/PIX11\/The Hill survey found that Mamdani led Cuomo 50 percent to 25 percent,\u00a0while 21 percent supported Sliwa.\u00a0The\u00a0poll surveyed 640\u00a0likely voters\u00a0from October 25 to October 27, with\u00a0a 3.8 percentage\u00a0point margin of error.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Suffolk University poll shows Mamdani leading Cuomo 44 percent to 34 percent, with Sliwa at 11 percent.\u00a0The poll was based on responses from 500\u00a0likely voters, who were surveyed from October 23 to October 26.\u00a0The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Does Voting End in the NYC Mayoral Election?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Polls open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, and close at 9 p.m. Early voting ended on Sunday.\u00a0Absentee ballots must be\u00a0postmarked by Tuesday or\u00a0returned in person\u00a0by 9 p.m. on\u00a0Election Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n
