{"id":280666,"date":"2026-06-28T21:10:37","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T21:10:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/280666\/"},"modified":"2026-06-28T21:10:37","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T21:10:37","slug":"news-12-new-jersey-82","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/280666\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | New Jersey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The Jersey City police department responded to reports of shots fired on Orient Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at approximately 2:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Upon arrival, officers found 38-year-old Jenardo Tejada injured with apparent gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Tejada, of Jersey City, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The cause and manner of his death are under investigation with the medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A second victim, was identified as a 45-year-old man also from Jersey City.
