Polls are now open in pivotal NYC Mayor's Race between Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa 1\"\/>\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A woman casts her ballot during early voting in Brooklyn on Oct. 25, 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Photo by Lloyd Mitchell <\/p>\n<p>The polls are now open this Election Day morning, Tuesday, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/politics\/2025-mayors-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2025 NYC Mayor\u2019s race<\/a> between Democratic nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/news\/zohran-mamdani-democrat-interview-mayors-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zohran Mamdani,<\/a> independent candidate and former Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/news\/andrew-cuomo-independent-interview-mayors-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Andrew Cuomo,<\/a> and Republican nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/politics\/curtis-sliwa-republican-interview-mayors-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Curtis Sliwa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In what looks to be the largest voter turnout in decades, hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are expected to visit the more than 14,000 polling places open today across the five boroughs and cast their votes in the mayoral race as well as separate contests for other citywide offices, as well as judgeships and several ballot questions impacting the City Charter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/news\/early-voting-turnout-record-nyc-mayor-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">More than 730,000 people took part in early voting in this race<\/a> \u2014 a record for a non-presidential election year in New York City, and a reflection of the energy and attention the contest between Mamdani, Cuomo, and Sliwa has drawn locally and nationally.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Polls will be open today from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Throughout the day, amNewYork reporters and photographers will be at polling sites across the city talking with voters about how they voted and why.
