New York City\u2019s immersive attraction RiseNY proudly celebrated Pride Month with Rise Up Live Proud on June 25, bringing together Broadway performers, drag artists, and the local community for an unforgettable evening benefiting Heritage of Pride. Watch the full video of the event above.<\/p>\n
Hosted by New York City icon and activists Marti Gould Cummings alongside Brita Filter, the free outdoor concert featured live performances from the legendary Lorna Luft<\/a>, who sang “I’ll Be Here Tomorrow” from\u00a0The Grand Tour<\/a>, and from Zachary Noah Piser<\/a> (Maybe Happy Ending<\/a>), who sang “Waving Through a Window” from Dear Evan Hansen<\/a>. Cummings brought the house down with a spirited rendition of the Queen classic\u00a0“Don’t Stop Me Now.”\u00a0Nicole Byer also made an appearance. <\/p>\n Guests enjoyed an inspiring afternoon of music, free t-shirts shot from a cannon, community,\u00a0and giving back\u2014with proceeds from the event supporting Heritage of Pride and its mission to empower and unite the LGBTQIA+ community through advocacy, education, and celebration.<\/p>\n “We’re honored to celebrate Pride by bringing together incredible performers and our community for a meaningful event in support of Heritage of Pride,” said Evan Storey, Senior Producer for RiseNY. “RiseNY celebrates the stories and people who have shaped New York City, and the LGBTQIA+ community is an essential part of that history.
