{"id":281859,"date":"2026-06-30T01:12:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T01:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/281859\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T01:12:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T01:12:14","slug":"elderly-woman-fatally-struck-in-bronx-crosswalk-by-hit-and-run-scooter-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/281859\/","title":{"rendered":"Elderly woman fatally struck in Bronx crosswalk by hit-and-run scooter driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An elderly woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash when the driver of a scooter slammed into her as she traversed a Bronx crosswalk Monday, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, believed to be in her 80s, was struck crossing E. 225th St. heading south on White Plains Road when the scooter driver struck her in the crosswalk around 2:30 p.m., according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed the victim to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nychealthandhospitals.org\/locations\/jacobi\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jacobi Medical Center<\/a>, where she died.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the grey, red and white scooter fled following the scene, said police.
