Mariachi El Bronx<\/a> have announced their first album in 12 years \u2013 listen to new single \u2018Forgive Or Forget\u2019 below.<\/p>\n

The eight-piece Los Angeles band, which is the alter-ego of punk-rock outfit The Bronx<\/a>, will release \u2018Mariachi El Bronx IV\u2019 on Friday February 13 via ATO. Pre-order\/pre-save here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Comprising 12 tracks, the forthcoming project follows on from their 2014 full-length effort \u2018Mariachi El Bronx III\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The group\u2019s new material sees them continue to honour\u00a0the rich Hispanic music and culture that has always surrounded them in LA.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, Mariachi El Bronx are still \u201cpushing creative boundaries\u201d with their long-awaited new material. The themes of \u2018Mariachi El Bronx IV\u2019 are said to have been informed by the \u201cclashing emotions of profound loss and overwhelming love\u201d.<\/p>\n

The songwriting process \u201cstarted as a battle between love and death but became a way to process all the chaos of the world\u201d, explained lead singer Matt Caughthran.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the LP, Mariachi El Bronx delve into \u201cstories of gamblers, former playboys, warriors, lovers \u2013 characters that became vessels for the specific pressures of being alive right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The energetic and celebratory-sounding \u2018Forgive Or Forget\u2019 \u2013 which opens the album \u2013 features a galloping rhythm, and reflects the contrasting emotions found across the project.<\/p>\n

Caughthran said he is singing on the single about someone \u201cwho\u2019s completely dishevelled and a little washed out, looking back on their life in a way that\u2019s kind of hazy\u201d. He added: \u201cThere\u2019s a little bit of hope there, but it\u2019s pretty dark.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song includes the lyrics: \u201cI can\u2019t lie\/ I still think about you all the time\/ Some might say that those were the best days of our lives\/ There\u2019s always a price that has to be paid\/ For desperately dreaming and wasting away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Forgive Or Forget\u2019 features Ray Suen (Childish Gambino<\/a>, Lorde<\/a>) on violin.<\/p>\n

Mariachi El Bronx have previously shared stages with Foo Fighters<\/a> and The Killers<\/a>, played sets at Coachella<\/a> and Glastonbury<\/a>, and made appearances on Letterman and NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk.<\/p>\n
