Dave Portnoy<\/a>, Barstool Sports founder, during his appearance on the news, says he might run against Zohran Mamdani. He voiced his frustration over the current New York administration, which might change his stance on staying out of politics.<\/p>\n

Dave Portnoy discussed why he believes he could challenge Zohran Mamdani for mayor of New York City<\/p>\n

Portnoy, who appeared on Fox News, said that he would love to run against the NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani. He said, \u201cSometimes I do feel like it\u2019s my duty. I can\u2019t turn away. I feel like I could make a change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further, he defended his credentials, stating, \u201cI\u2019ve had a real job, I\u2019ve done real things, unlike these clown politicians who have never had a job and never been in the real world for a day.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained how, despite his interest in running against Mamdani, the local voters might be in favour of the NYC Mayor. If voters can look past their differences, then he might win, according to OK Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Portnoy also commented on Mamdani, saying, \u201cIf you listen to what he said before, he\u2019s likely to come. I want to get as many socialists and communists elected and take over. And that\u2019s what he\u2019s doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soon after his challenge, social media users were quick to react. One Reddit user wrote<\/a>, \u201cHe can run all he wants, and he\u2019ll be laughed out of the polls. New Yorkers aren\u2019t stupid, and they generally love Mamdani.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u200bAnother wrote<\/a>, \u201cThe best way to know an online personality is bad at politics is by their saying they would do a better job in office. He\u2019s an overpaid clown with hot takes. If he wants to get into politics, he should start at the bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mamdani has not publicly commented on Dave\u2019s challenge to run against him; he continues to be popular among New Yorkers for his work.<\/p>\n
