RIVERDALE, The Bronx (WABC) — Police arrested a man they say raped a 13-year-old girl in Van Cortlandt Park the Bronx last week.<\/p>\n

Abundio Hernandez Cantu, 36, of Yonkers, is now facing a charge of rape after being arrested on Monday.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the attack happened Tuesday, June 23 at about 10 p.m. Authorities say the girl was on a northbound Bx9 bus when Hernandez Cantu approached her.<\/p>\n

Police say the suspect got off the bus with the victim near Broadway and West 261st Street, then grabbed her and dragged her into a wooded area inside the park, where she was sexually assaulted. He then fled on foot.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital and was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n
