MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Manhattan Fire Department responded to an industrial building fire in Manhattan, Kan. <\/p>\n
According to the Manhattan Fire Department, crews responded at 7:41 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, to reports of a structure fire at a large industrial building at 1105 Kretschmer Dr. near McCall Rd. <\/p>\n
Manhattan Fire Department officials said when crews arrived, they found the contents of a large oven on fire inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility. Firefighters extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of arrival. Crews remained on scene to ventilate the area and ensure the building was safe. <\/p>\n
Officials said that 15 firefighters responded on five apparatus. Two units from Pottawatomie County EMS also responded. <\/p>\n
Officials said the fire was determined to be accidental. No injuries were reported, and there was no damage to the facility or equipment. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe business did all the right things,\u201d Battalion Chief Jason Hudson said. \u201cThey got people out of the building and alerted the fire department in a timely manner. This was a best-case scenario incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hudson said he appreciates the support from Pottawatomie County EMS. <\/p>\n
Officials noted the business is operated by PTMW, Inc., and the owner of the building is listed as Flint Hills Ventures LLC. <\/p>\n
