{"id":284390,"date":"2026-07-02T01:07:02","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T01:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/284390\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T01:07:02","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T01:07:02","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-man-wanted-for-clason-point-shooting-that-sent-victim-running-into-nearby-deli-for-help","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/284390\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Man Wanted For Clason Point Shooting That Sent Victim Running Into Nearby Deli For Help"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The NYPD released images of the man they say is responsible for a <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/50-year-old-man-shot-in-clason-point\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shooting in Clason<\/a> Point that sent a 49-year-old man running into a nearby deli for help.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Police say the man was shot in the leg outside of 1176 Randall Ave. just after 3:30 p.m. on June 24.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Paramedics took him to NYC Health and Hospitals\/Jacobi. He is expected to recover, according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">News 12 obtained surveillance footage from inside the deli, showing the 49-year-old man limping inside before collapsing in the back of the store.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The deli owner, Ali Ashmali, told News 12 that the victim bought a bag of chips from the deli minutes before the shooting.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">\u201cHe walked in, he said, \u2018Please call the cops. Close the store,\u2019\u201d Ashmali said.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">He said the camera outside the deli could have captured the shooting, but it was not working at the time.
