(It\u2019s) also an insult to PBA members who are working long hours in extreme heat to meet the extraordinary security demands of the upcoming holiday weekend,\u201d reads the Wednesday missive, which was obtained by The Post. <\/p>\n \u201cThe PBA will therefore file a grievance seeking to bar the City from delaying payment of the holiday checks, and we will continue to pursue every measure to hold the current City administration accountable for its refusal to support our members,\u201d Hendry wrote.<\/p>\n Union leaders filed the grievance Wednesday with the NYPD\u2019s office of labor relations, sources said.<\/p>\n NYPD holiday checks vary based on where an officer sit on the pay scale, but members at a basic level would get nearly $2,800, according to sources.<\/p>\n A similar delay unfolded in January with that month\u2019s holiday check shortly after Mamdani took office, according to Hendry\u2019s email. <\/p>\n Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry informed officers that the union will file a grievance.
