{"id":285423,"date":"2026-07-02T23:44:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T23:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/285423\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T23:44:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T23:44:53","slug":"body-found-stuffed-inside-couch-at-brooklyn-apartment-building-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/285423\/","title":{"rendered":"Body found stuffed inside couch at Brooklyn apartment building, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SJ4IBWFGQVAP3NA3PR5CLBG42Q\">A cleaning crew discovered a man\u2019s body stuffed inside a couch Thursday morning at an apartment building in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"46VQP2O33BH2TJUOGYDDK3D7QI\">The cleaners made the grim find at a building on Union Street near Utica Avenue that includes units for the mentally disabled, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/07\/02\/mans-body-found-stuffed-in-couch-by-cleaning-crew-at-brooklyn-apartment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/07\/02\/mans-body-found-stuffed-in-couch-by-cleaning-crew-at-brooklyn-apartment\/\">Daily News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"O5LFAHHCMBEEJHXO7BXZXD6U5A\">Police were called to the scene around 8:50 a.m. after someone reported a burglary, but that initial call came from a person who mistook the cleaning crew for intruders and did not know they were scheduled to arrive, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WMB4YSX6AVHMNJRFS77SJD5HMA\">Officers left the scene after determining there was no burglary.
