{"id":288696,"date":"2026-07-07T00:10:48","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T00:10:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/288696\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T00:10:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T00:10:48","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-major-flooding-in-coney-island-creates-hazardous-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/288696\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Major Flooding In Coney Island Creates Hazardous Conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Major flooding on Neptune Avenue in Coney Island created hazardous conditions for vehicles and pedestrians on Monday.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Video taken around 12 p.m. shows a pedestrian struggling to walk through the floods at West 33rd Street and Neptune Avenue.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Vehicles are also seen struggling to drive down Neptune Avenue.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Neighbors tell News 12 that flooding happens in the area often, though this flooding was some of the worst they&#8217;ve seen.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;I think it&#8217;s crazy,&#8221; Coney Island resident Jay said. &#8220;Because every time it rains out here, we get flooded. I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s from the ocean or from the rainwater itself, but this has been going on a long time&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;I didn&#8217;t expect it to be this bad when I walked outside,&#8221; Serenti Davis said.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Much of the high water levels have receded.
