Assemblymember and Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn noted that this breakfast, in addition to being a social vehicle, is also a push for folks to go out and vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis election is so incredibly important because it contributes to how we vote in Washington, D.C.,\u201d Bichotte Hermelyn said. \u201cWe need a mayor, a comptroller \u2014 people who are going to protect New York City \u2014 to either subsidize or fill in the gaps that D.C. is not providing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who was also in attendance, called Cohn \u201cthe most charming man in Brooklyn,\u201d and his breakfast \u201cthe ultimate Brooklyn experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
