When they arrived, they found the victim, 46-year-old Shaun Whitchett of Metropolitan Oval in the Bronx, who suffered a single gunshot wound to his head.<\/p>\n<p>EMS rushed Whitchett to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). All calls and messages are kept confidential.<\/p>\n<p>Through July 5, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/assets\/nypd\/downloads\/pdf\/crime_statistics\/cs-en-us-043pct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">43rd Precinct<\/a> reported five homicides year-to-date, equal to the same total at that point in 2025.
