They say no two Eric Church<\/a> shows are the same. <\/p>\n

Keeping true to that theme, the country music icon pulled out all the stops for his first of three headlining shows at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater<\/a>. Last night, July 6, kicked off the string of performances over the next couple of days, joined by opener Corey Kent for an unforgettable set. <\/p>\n

Delivering a mixture of his own hits, including the classic summer anthem, \u201cSpringsteen,\u201d<\/a> along with \u201cThese Boots,\u201d \u201cSinners Like Me,\u201d and even his unreleased OG fan throwback, \u201cJulia.\u201d Church, of course, also sprinkled in a number of covers, including Queen\u2019s 1978 hit, \u201cFat Bottomed Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s something so perfect about this pairing between Church\u2019s echoing vocals and the classic rock band\u2019s iconic track off of their seventh studio album, Jazz. Accompanied by three background vocalists, they truly did the song justice in true Freddie Mercury form, introducing the track with their ringing accapella voices before the band amped up for the verses. <\/p>\n

While this isn\u2019t the first time Church has put his own spin on the fan-favorite, performing it on his 2019 Double Down Tour and also paying homage to the band\u2019s \u201cBohemian Rhapsody\u201d during his full-blown classic-rock medleys<\/a>, there\u2019s just something special about hearing it ring through the acoustics of Red Rocks. Lord only knows what he\u2019ll have up his sleeve for round 2 of his Morrison, Colorado concert tonight with special opening guest, 49 Winchester.<\/p>\n

Mr. Misunderstood <\/a>will round out the special series of shows on Wednesday night, July 8, alongside the Creekers before heading back to the stage at Lake Tahoe Amphitheatre on July 15 and 16 with ERNEST. For those already feeling the post-concert regrets of not snagging tickets for Church\u2019s Red Rocks run, luckily, a livestream of last night\u2019s show is available to purchase in HD and 4k for the full-at home watching experience. <\/p>\n
