The Nostrand Avenue A\/C stop in Bed-Stuy is set to get three elevators. Over in Bushwick, two new elevators will be installed at the Jefferson Street L stop.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Commuters say the upgrades are long overdue.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;I think it&#8217;s an awesome thing because people have disabilities and they can&#8217;t take the steps. So elevators are great,&#8221; said one rider.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The Neptune Avenue F, 18 Avenue N, and Fort Hamilton Parkway D stations are also set to receive upgrades.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The MTA is accepting requests for proposals from qualified design firms through Sept. 14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The MTA is moving forward with plans to make several subway stations in the borough more accessible.
