{"id":290653,"date":"2026-07-08T19:52:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T19:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/290653\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T19:52:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T19:52:52","slug":"rosendale-declares-state-of-emergency-over-storm-damage-daily-freeman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/290653\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosendale declares state of emergency over storm damage \u2013 Daily Freeman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROSENDALE, N.Y. \u2014 A state of emergency has been declared in the town due to extensive damage caused by the storms on July 4.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townofrosendaleny.gov\/july-4-2026-storm-information\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an announcement posted on the town\u2019s website<\/a> on Tuesday, July 7, officials said the storms resulted in widespread damage through much of the town, resulting in the closure of many roads because they are impassable due to downed trees and live wires on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement added that town officials have been working to identify power outages and to have power restored as quickly as possible and are continuing to bring in assistance from Ulster County and New York state.<\/p>\n<p>Residents whose homes suffered structural damage due to the storms are asked to document the damage and take photos.
