On June 28, 2026, at approximately 1:38 a.m., New York State Police were notified by Dutchess County 911 of a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near mile marker 57.0 in the Town of East Fishkill.<\/p>\n
Members of the New York State Police in Brewster, with the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, located a 2024 GMC traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near mile marker 66 in the Town of Southeast. Troopers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, bringing the vehicle to a stop.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, the operator and sole occupant, identified as Edward Navedo, 41, of Germantown, New York, exhibited signs of intoxication.<\/p>\n
Navedo was taken into custody and transported to State Police Brewster for processing, where he submitted to a chemical breath test that yielded a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.19%.<\/p>\n
As a result of the investigation, Navedo was charged with:<\/p>\n
Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a Class D felonyAggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Per Se), BAC of 0.18% or More, an unclassified misdemeanorDriving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanorReckless Driving, an unclassified misdemeanor<\/p>\n
Navedo was arraigned in the Town of Kent Court and released on his own recognizance.
