NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — Traffic was severely disrupted while police rescued a woman from the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

All eastbound lanes were temporarily closed as officers worked to remove a 31-year-old woman from a beam above the roadway on the bridge, according to officials.<\/p>\n

Video showed police secured to a railing with straps, slowly escorting the woman off the beam.<\/p>\n

She was taken to Woodhull Hospital.<\/p>\n

Eastbound lanes have since reopened to traffic.<\/p>\n

It’s not clear yet on why the she scaled the bridge.<\/p>\n

No further details have been provided.<\/p>\n
