But behind that modest citywide decrease, boroughs moved in vastly different directions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bronx was the standout story of Q2, closing with 109 first-time filings, the strongest quarter in more than seven years, after cases nearly doubled Y-o-Y. That surge made <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.com\/bronx-a-historical-record\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Bronx<\/a> the city\u2019s second most active foreclosure market, surpassed only by Queens, in a dynamic last seen nearly a decade ago.
