Police said they received the 911 call of a person climbing the bridge at roughly 7:38 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>As helicopters circled overhead, members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit, tethered to a railing, climbed the bridge and engaged the distressed individual in dialogue, then safely placed them into custody. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Police did not supply identifying information about the victim.
