The NYPD is appealing to the public for help locating a 12-year-old boy who is reported missing from the Bedford Park section of The Bronx.<\/p>\n

Police said Alexander\u00a0Almonte of 2815 Grand Concourse, Bronx, was last seen leaving his home on Saturday, July 4, at around 7 a.m. They said he is described as male, Hispanic, is around 4 feet tall, weighs around 150 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and dark colored pants.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, July 9, local resident, Devin Whitehead, who works at the newsstand at Bedford Park Boulevard subway station serving the 4 train, told Norwood News that he recognized Alexander from his picture and frequently sees him at the station. \u201cAlexander Almonte normally comes off the train around 5 \/ 5.30 [p.m.],\u201d Whitehead, whose parents own the newsstand, said.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n He added, \u201cHe comes and normally says hi. He would come and buy something or if he doesn\u2019t have anything, I give him something. Seems like a nice kid from what I\u2019ve seen. He introduced me to some of his friends as well.\u201d Whitehead continued in part, \u201cHopefully, he\u2019s fine. Hopefully he\u2019s at a friend\u2019s house. I hope it\u2019s nothing bad. Hopefully not. But again, he\u2019s a nice kid. He comes here. He\u2019s nice. He\u2019s polite every time I see him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Whitehead said Alexander lives a few blocks from the station. \u201cHopefully, the NYPD finds him or he comes home or some of the community members spot him and recognize him but really, he\u2019s just an all around good kid, and I just send my warm regards and prayers to the family of Alexander Almonte,\u201d Whitehead added.<\/p>\n Devin Whitehead checks Bedford Pk Blvd Subway for missing boy, Alexander Almonte, 12, on 7\/8\/26.
