{"id":292324,"date":"2026-07-10T14:28:41","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/292324\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T14:28:41","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T14:28:41","slug":"repairs-to-brooklyns-red-hook-pool-to-continue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/292324\/","title":{"rendered":"Repairs to Brooklyn&#8217;s Red Hook Pool to Continue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York City Parks Department<\/a> officials on Thursday told community members that the Red Hook pool is expected to complete repairs and reopen by the end of July or sooner.<\/p>\n<p>As the parks department got ready to open the pool in June, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bkreader.com\/lifestyle-culture\/nyc-pools-open-for-the-summer-season-12485755\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the filter plant beneath the pool flooded<\/a>, delaying the opening of the pool for the second time in two years.<\/p>\n<p>Parks officials told residents at a community meeting that the department received\u00a0four motors and are currently in the process of replacing the failed system, according to a Parks Department spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>As repairs are being made, the\u00a0spray shower continues to remain active from 11:00am\u00a0to 7:00pm every day and can be accessed from the gates at Lorraine and Henry Streets. During the heat emergencies, spray shower use will be extended to 8:30pm, the spokesperson said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Children and teens can still pick up free lunches at the pool.
