\n The 47th annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! performing arts festival kicked off on June 4 and this year\u2019s lineup is seriously stacked. Don\u2019t worry if you missed out on your chance to see Sheila E., Wayne Wonder, or Patti LaBelle \u2013 there are still plenty of great concerts to catch between now and September when the festival winds down.\n <\/p>\n

\n Blount specifically highlighted shows by Royel Otis, Black House Radio, and Sasha Velour\u2019s Nightgowns. The festival is also planning a tribute to Brooklyn-born Aaliyah and the 35th annual Lyricist Lounge featuring Jadakiss. We\u2019re looking forward to shows featuring Cindy Blackman Santana Group and Patricia Brennan Septet, a Black House Radio showcase supported by Councilmember Chi Osse, and of course, Liz Phair and Sleater-Kinney\u2019s joint benefit concert on September 19th.\n <\/p>\n
