Officials said construction is running several months ahead of schedule since the project broke ground earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The plant is expected to bring around 50,000 jobs to the region and attract tens of thousands of workers to central and northern New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Gov. Kathy Hochul spoke at the event, citing the project\u2019s broader economic significance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019re also laying the foundation for a resurgence of American industry, manufacturing, and the whole semiconductor revolution, and it\u2019s happening here,\u201d Hochul said. \u201cThis is the epicenter of this. So I\u2019m so proud that this will be creating businesses and supply chain opportunities.
