Photo 2: Delta News Hub\/Wikimedia Commons.<\/p>\n<p>By Gus Saltonstall<\/p>\n<p>Zohran Mamdani will be the next mayor of New York City, according to multiple publications, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2025\/11\/04\/us\/elections\/results-new-york.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">New York Times<\/a> and CNN.<\/p>\n<p>The race was called around 9:38 p.m. on Tuesday by multiple news outlets. Here is the breakdown of the vote between Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo, and Curtis Sliwa, as of 10:30 p.m., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2025\/11\/04\/us\/elections\/results-new-york.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to the New York Times.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Zohran Mamdani (D): 50 percent (1,018,190 votes)<br \/>\nAndrew Cuomo (I): 41 percent (841,476 votes)<br \/>\nCurtis Sliwa (R): 7 percent (144,554 votes)<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani, 34, will become the youngest mayor of New York City in more than 100 years, and also the first Muslim mayor of the five boroughs.<\/p>\n<p>There were more than two million votes cast in the New York City mayoral race this year, which is the most since 1969, according to the New York State Board of Elections.<\/p>\n<p>Locally, New York City Councilmember Shaun Abreu won reelection in Morningside Heights and Upper West Side District 7, according to NY1. Here is the voter break down as of 10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Shaun Abreu (D): 86 percent<br \/>\nManual Williams (R): 8 percent<br \/>\nEdafe Okporo (I): 5 percent<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere throughout the borough, Upper West Side State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal is comfortably leading in the race to be the next Manhattan Borough President as of 9:40 p.m., according to NY1. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has also won his reelection campaign, according to NY1.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the results for those two races as of 10:30 p.m., according to NY1.<\/p>\n<p>Manhattan Borough President Race<\/p>\n<p>Brad Hoylman-Sigal (D): 80 percent<br \/>\nSeson Adams (R): 16 percent<br \/>\nRolando Gomez (I): 2 percent<\/p>\n<p>Manhattan District Attorney Race<\/p>\n<p>Alvin Bragg (D): 74 percent<br \/>\nMaud Maron (R): 20 percent<br \/>\nDiana Florence (I): 5 percent<\/p>\n<p>There are also races for New York City Comptroller and Public Advocate.
