Summer Streets to Return to All Five Boroughs With Updated Hours<\/p>\n
New Yorkers will again enjoy more than 20 miles of car-free streets and programming over five
\n Saturdays in July and August<\/p>\n
City adjusts hours for outer boroughs to help more New Yorkers enjoy events<\/p>\n

NEW YORK \u2013 New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) Commissioner Mike Flynn announced
\n today that Summer Streets will return to all five boroughs. This year, more than 20 miles of Summer Streets
\n corridors will be open to pedestrians and cyclists from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Manhattan and with adjusted, later
\n hours in the outer boroughs based on local feedback. Summer Streets will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in
\n Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island to help more New Yorkers enjoy these locations.<\/p>\n
\u201cSummer Streets gives back our largest public space, our streets, so that all New Yorkers can walk, run, bike, play,
\n dance, or simply connect with their neighbors,\u201d said NYC DOT Commissioner Mike Flynn. \u201cThis year,
\n we\u2019re adjusting the hours of Summer Streets in the outer boroughs to help more New Yorkers enjoy these events later
\n in the day. We thank our sister agencies, programming partners, elected officials, and advocates for their support
\n behind New York\u2019s biggest block party.\u201d<\/p>\n
More than 500,000 people walked, ran, cycled, or played on Summer Streets during last year\u2019s events in all five
\n boroughs. Summer Streets will return to all five boroughs for five Saturdays spanning July and August. NYC DOT Art
\n will present dynamic installations throughout Summer Streets.<\/p>\n

\n running and walking events to Summer Streets. Geared towards beginner athletes, the series will return to Queens on
\n Saturday, July 25. For the first time in the series, NYC DOT and NYRR will also host events in Manhattan on August 1
\n and The Bronx on August 22. Registration for the NYRR Start Line Series events will launch on Friday, July 10, at nyrr.org\/startlineseries<\/a>.<\/p>\n
