{"id":292976,"date":"2026-07-11T02:29:22","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T02:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/292976\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T02:29:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T02:29:22","slug":"carnegie-foundation-grants-1m-to-brooklyn-public-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/292976\/","title":{"rendered":"Carnegie Foundation grants $1M to Brooklyn Public Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BOROUGHWIDE \u2014 THE ANDREW CARNEGIE FOUNDATION has awarded the Brooklyn Public Library a two-year grant of $1 million, BPL announced Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The grant will enhance the library\u2019s services for immigrants, and help teens with schoolwork and college planning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BPL plans to expand English language and citizenship classes, legal aid clinics, hiring events and coaching for immigrant job seekers and entrepreneurs. For teens, BPL will host a college fair and hire two part-time college coaches to assist with college applications, financial aid and test prep.
