The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will hold its annual fundraiser on Nov. 6, with five-floors of music and free outdoor concerts.<\/p>\n
The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music<\/a>, a 128-year-old nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives and building community through music, will host its\u00a0tenth annual House Party fundraiser\u00a0on Nov.\u00a06, including two free stages outdoors.<\/p>\n Featuring over 30\u00a0musical acts, immersive experiences, and food and drink from local vendors, this year\u2019s event, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, will also honor ten years of Chad Cooper, the executive director of the conservatory.\u00a0<\/p>\n “House Party was conceived to be a bit different than a traditional fundraiser,\u201d Cooper said in a statement. \u201cI felt strongly that whatever we did had to be really fun, and the best version of it was one where people were coming for the sake of the sheer joy of the event. Over time, it became an opportunity for us to really show our personality as an institution and tell our story through music and experiences, rather than speeches and slideshows.”<\/p>\n While House Party is a\u00a0ticketed<\/a>\u00a0event, two of the outdoor stages will be\u00a0free and open to the public, featuring acts such as\u00a0Red Baraat<\/a>,\u00a0Femme Jam<\/a>, and\u00a0Slavic Soul Party<\/a>. Those who secure a ticket will have access to indoor acts like\u00a0Michael Daves<\/a>, VJ\u00a0Ralph McDaniels<\/a>, and\u00a0Melvis Santa<\/a>.<\/p>\n The conservatory in October announced its expansion<\/a> to One Prospect Park West, four blocks from its 7th Avenue headquarters. The 12,000 square-foot expansion site will\u00a0double the number of New Yorkers\u00a0reached and be the home to the new\u00a0Music Therapy Institute, which has garnered support from\u00a0Billy and Alexis Joel\u2019s Joel Foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
