Sunny Hostin reportedly asked cops if they knew who she was when her son, Gabriel, was hit with a trespassing violation in New York last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe View\u201d co-host \u2014 a former federal prosecutor and lawyer \u2014 spoke to officers on the scene over the phone after Gabriel, 24, was caught jogging along MTA tracks and ignoring \u201cno trespassing\u201d signs, according to The New York Post.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThey were just talking to the kid because he was trespassing, but his mother made it an issue,\u201d one source told the outlet. \u201cShe wanted to know why he was stopped and why did they talk to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hostin, 57, allegedly asked the officers if they knew who she was before name-dropping \u201cThe View.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe said I am Sunny Hostin, I am on \u2018The View,\u2019\u201d a source claimed.<\/p>\n

She declined to comment Monday when The Post reached her by phone.<\/p>\n

According to court records, Gabriel was stopped on June 16 near 24 Station Plaza in New Rochelle, New York, after he was spotted \u201con the right-of-way of the active railroad tracks, in violation of the posted no trespassing signs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of his scheduled court appearance on July 31, Hostin wrote a letter to the D.A. asking the case to be dismissed. She named herself as her son\u2019s lawyer.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy client is a 2025 Harvard University graduate with no criminal history or prior contact with the criminal justice system,\u201d the television personality wrote in a court letter obtained by TMZ.<\/a> \u201cHe is an avid runner and former Junior Olympian track athlete who was in the area training.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Hostin, the \u201cno trespassing\u201d sign on the gate at the entrance wasn\u2019t visible to him at the time since it was left open.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe reasonably believed the area was accessible and had no intention of entering private property unlawfully,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

In a court letter Hostin wrote to the D.A. regarding the incident, she said she was her son\u2019s lawyer. Instagram\/@gabe._.hostin<\/p>\n

She asked for the case to be dismissed, writing that the incident was an \u201chonest mistake\u201d and that her son posed no danger to the community. She\u2019s seen here alongside Marjorie Taylor Green on \u201cThe View\u201d earlier this month. The View\/ABC<\/p>\n

Hostin said her son was facing \u201cunnecessary consequences\u201d for an \u201chonest mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDismissal would avoid imposing unnecessary consequences on a young man who has demonstrated exceptional character and achievement and who poses no risk to the community,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Hostin and her husband, orthopedic surgeon Emmanuel Hostin, share Gabriel as well as their daughter, Paloma, 20. They\u2019ve been married since August 1998.<\/p>\n
