Photo: Timmy Daniels<\/p>\n<p>According to the New York Department of Transportation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dot.ny.gov\/about-nysdot\/faq\/are-53-foot-long-trailers-allowed-in-nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">53-foot semi-trailers<\/a> are not allowed to make pick ups or deliveries in any borough of New York City. However, the Brooklyn Heights Association says it has been \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/brooklyneagle.com\/281970\/giant-trucks-causing-chaos-on-narrow-streets-of-brooklyn-heights\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">besieged<\/a>\u201d by complaints for years about these huge trucks, the Eagle reported.<\/p>\n<p>Trucks like this are \u201ctotally illegal\u201d on neighborhood streets, said Lara Birnback, executive director of the Brooklyn Heights Association. \u201cThe problem is, there\u2019s no enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-401890\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Truck-stuck-05-Timmy-Daniels-600x450.jpeg\" alt=\"Photos: Timmy Daniels\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\"  \/>Oversized trucks have plagued the narrow streets of the Heights for years, blocking emergency vehicles and damaging parked cars. Photo: Timmy Daniels<\/p>\n<p>Markings on the truck\u2019s cab indicated it is operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/motus.dot.gov\/customer\/4364230\/account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">DSFR Trucking<\/a> LLC, a for-hire freight carrier based in Philadelphia. The company owns one truck, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
